Quick 5k after work with Run Club today. As you can tell, it’s kind of hard to selfie while running. I got the boys in this, but Lauren was to my side and unfortunately didn’t make it into any of my shots. (Sorry, Lauren!)

This was a much better run weather-wise than our last group run, which, unfortunately, was also the last time I ran before today. I’d like to be running around fifteen miles a week, but am being forgiving of myself for a little while considering, ya know, I ran a marathon only a month ago. My 10k is coming up in April, so I still have some time to rest more before I get back into measured training; the half marathon I just signed up for yesterday isn’t until November anyway.

I really enjoyed this run, though. I even got a PR in one of my segments that I run semi-frequently, so that was exciting. The weather, like I said, was much better, and I wore my Brooks, which felt great. I’m not sure if it’s really a matter of choosing between those and my X14s like I originally thought.

The Brooks definitely offer good stability and rigidness, which I like, but I love the cushioning of the X14s. I think I’ll keep both and use them interchangeably depending on my mood, though I do wonder if it’s “bad” to not have a consistent pair of running shoes. I’ll look into it and report back. It seems largely with running that what’s “bad” for one person can work out just fine for others, so we’ll see.

Anyway, I’m excited to be running, and to be getting back to my groove (Do I say this every week? Probably). I’m gonna run at least one more time this week, though I’m not sure when. Y’all’ll be the first to hear about it when I do.

Song of the run: “Bloodline” – Ariana Grande
